In My Backyard
Of course when you live somewhere you tend to overlook what's happening around you. Well, since May the Philadelphia Museum of Art has been showing a collection of twenty-three twentieth-century chairs. Judging from what I've seen online, I need to get over there before the exhibit closes on September 20. I also need to pay a little more attention.

Julius Shulman, 1910–2009
Julius Shulman, photographer of some of the most iconic images of modern architecture ever produced, dies at age 98. His work lives on in the documentary Visual Acoustics (releasing in the US in October.) The trailer looks awesome.
To the Moon
July 16th marked the 40th anniversary of the Apollo 11 mission to the moon. Check out the LIFE web site to see exclusive photos from those memorable days in 1969 when the country watched as 3 men launched into space.
